I just got back from my trip to England! The weather was picture postcard perfect: 70s and blue skies almost every day. Roses were going crazy. Here is a very edited selection of what I saw. Above is Buckingham Palace during the changing of the guard.
In London: tea at Cream Dream, a gluten-free bakery at Covent Garden, Covent Garden, the Tower with wildflower-filled moat, black cabs, Charles II (really nice guy) watching some courtier, and The Mousetrap at St. Martin’s Theatre. If you ever go, and you love Agatha Christie, you have to see the play.
In Cotswold: Toddington Station (where they sometimes film Father Brown), the view from my sister’s guest bedroom window (a green and pleasant land), a white poppy from her 3/4 acre garden, a “casket” (embroidered box), Gloucestershire Cathedral window, Roman tile floor at Chedworth.
There’s way too much stuff to post here. If you want to see more pictures, zip over to my FB page: Facebook
Have you been to England? What did you think of it?
You are such a good photographer! Thanks for sharing these. Most of my trips there have been to the south. I’m a Janeite and that’s where those tours take you. I’ll be in London at the end of July. I’m excited to see Greenwich and have our photo taken on the iconic line.
Maybe my favorite trip was when I hiked The Cleveland Way. Has anyone else done one of England’s amazing trails?
Didn’t get any hiking in but I clocked 25 miles around London. by the time I got to the Cotswolds, my feet were done.
Now I want to go back! I love it there. I think I was actually meant to live in England. I even like it when the weather is bad.
I get now why Deborah Crombie goes back every year and writes about England. She can write off the trips.
I love England. I’m jealous of your trip — and your pictures!
I’d like to make reservations to stay in your sister’s guest room.
I love Engl;and. I went three times last year, and I want to go back!
